Quebec City, Quebec Canada

I recently took a trip to Quebec City in Quebec Canada to shoot a wedding. Here are some photo’s from my adventures out on the city with my girlfriend. It rained basically everyday we were there but we still managed to go out and still have a good time.

I really loved Quebec City. It takes you back in time and the architecture reminds me of Europe.

I really enjoy visiting Philadelphia when I can get the time off of work. I try to make it out every few months to visit my friends who live there and shoot a lot while I’m in town. This time was the shortest amount of time I was there so it was more of a relaxed visit to see friends and do some shoots with them.

I really enjoy this city. The people, the atmosphere, the creativity that flows through me, and making memories and laughing with my friends while I’m here.

My first shoot was with Jordan in an old park that’s pretty vacant. It was a good setting because it had some of the city skyline in the background, benches, dead trees, city decay, and obviously snow all around us. The temperature was probably in the 20′s and I had her prancing around in a mini dress and she was barefoot. She was a total trooper the whole time though and only started to feel the cold when her feet went numb.

My friends Joe and Jose came by to help out and take some behind the scene photos for me. Jose took all these photos and Joe helped me lug around the lights and be my test subject so I could get everything just right.

On a side note-I mainly shoot outdoors with natural light and rarely rely on using strobes with my shoots. My shoots rarely are over the top productions so I don’t really use any lighting but the big fireball in the sky. However, that limits what I plan on doing with my work so I wanted to have fun and try some new things. My good friends Amanda and Justin let me borrow their AlienBee ab800 and beauty dish to try out. I really enjoyed it and the results that I got from it.

Needless to say Philly spoils me.

With the new year right around the corner I thought it was fitting to release two more iPhone wallpaper packs. Right now you can download two different free, yes free, packs featuring photographs from my ‘Decay’ gallery. The wallpapers are 320×480 pixels in resolution and are usable on the iPod Touch as well. Friend Portraits

I have many different friends who come from all walks of life and do so many amazing things. Some are photographers, tattoo artists, painters, designers, musicians, hair stylists, models, chefs, soldiers, fathers, mothers, and many other things. What it boils down to no matter what is we are friends. We are there for one another for support and throughout the craziness of daily life we always find time to hang out and have a good time.

I am doing a series of portraits on my friends. No models. No glits. No glam. Just people I love, respect, care about, and ultimately think of as my friends. These are my best friends, acquaintances, old friends, and new friends. They are all equally different in personality, style, education, backgrounds, race and sexual orientation. I love them all for their unique individuality.

I started modeling my junior year of highschool for friends applying to college for photography. Two years back a friend of mine went to the Hallmark Institute of Photography in western Massachusetts so I made the trip out there to work with him on his portfolio. Immediately following that, several different students from that class contacted me to shoot. I started doing work with students on a trade for photos basis and really enjoyed seeing them get siked on the final product. Once I made a Model Mayhem account and posted photos on Facebook, I started getting offers for paid shoots and that is when I decided I was able to take modeling seriously rather than just a hobby. I now model with P3 Talent Management out of Boston. They also have branches in New York City, Miami and Vegas.

Back to Basics

Long ago before I started shooting models I got my start acquiring ways into insane asylums and other run down buildings. Recently I was walking home from work and walked by this gem of a location. I went home and schemed and plotted a way to get into this factory. I planned on going in after work on Wednesday when I got out at 4. I brought my camera and two favorite lenses with me and after work I walked over to this new location. However, when I visited the location before I did not notice the 15 no trespassing signs plastered all over the fence and building itself. I ignored them and found a hole in the fence and went right in. Within minutes 3 police cars showed up and long story short I was told to leave and not go back. I was majorly bummed and was walking home and figured why waste a good day! So I walked to a warehouse area that I have shot at before to take some shots. My music on full blast. The weather was gorgeous. I felt back to the basics. Don’t get me wrong I love taking portraits of people but sometimes that can get to routine to me and I feel like I don’t have fun doing it anymore. I will forever find happiness in one of my favorite subjects to shoot, urban and industrial decay.
